A long short month

Flight delays can be a good thing, especially when you don’t have much time to write. Having landed in London early only to be informed there’s a delay in the next flight. Nothing one can do except to look for a comfortable place to rest, a charging station and a motivation to download one’s thoughts.

Now feeling a little spaced out from the long flight, different time zones and sudden weather change, still tapping on the keys to put in more words on this post. Guess this is the best I can do to keep the blog alive, at least once a month.

It’s already March and it still feels that 2017 is lingering on. January went by rapidly. February usually an easy month was unusually chaotic for me.

For a start, I caught this horrific bug from Thailand or in transit or simply from the person next to me on the train. Within a couple of days of throat irritation, I couldn’t drink or eat for a week, lost 5kg, sent to A&E by my doctor to receive a most potent dose of antibiotics. Felt totally drained, lost all tastes for food and in a sorry state of debilitation.

Luckily whatever the hospital prescribed got me back on my feet, just in time for Chinese New Year and a holiday to Iceland with two good friends, Karen and Yen.

We’ve been planning this trip exactly one year ago but one thing or another stopped us from doing it together. Finally we’re doing it, all of us are flying from different places to meet in Iceland and be enchanted by whatever that presents before us.

Hopefully we get to see the lights..

Joan
